The situation

Backify is a cashback platform: users earn rewards on purchases and withdraw them in fiat or cryptocurrency. It lives in two places at once — a web application and a browser extension — and the two have to feel like one product.

The design was strong and detailed in Figma. The gap between a strong Figma file and a fast production front-end is where most of these projects go wrong.

What we did

We worked directly alongside the UI/UX designers rather than receiving handoffs, translating design into Next.js and TypeScript with responsive performance treated as part of the design rather than a later optimisation pass.

Working in the same loop as the designers is the whole trick. It's how you catch the screen that cannot be built cheaply while it is still cheap to change.

The outcome

A production front-end faithful to the design across both the web app and the extension.

This is the engagement we point at when a client asks whether we can carry a brand properly. Design-led work does not mean approximate work.
