A demo store that installs in ninety seconds
Building 'Click Shop', an internal product of modules and a sample data library that reduced the setup of a Magento 2 demo store from a consultant's afternoon to a single button.
The situation
Every consultant at the company began each engagement the same way: standing up a Magento 2 demo store by hand, populating it with sample data, and losing most of a day to it before any client-facing work began.
Nobody had costed that. Almost nobody ever does — the tax you pay in setup is invisible because it is spread evenly across everyone.
What we did
We built Click Shop: a set of modules plus a sample data library that turned the whole ritual into a single action. Built with PHP against Magento 2, with Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes doing the work underneath, on Linux and GCP.
The outcome
A complete demo store, installed in under ninety seconds, at the click of a button. Consulting engagements started the same day they were sold rather than the day after.
This one is nearly a decade old and it still shapes how we work: find the tax everyone is quietly paying, and delete it.
