An outlet storefront on WordPress, done properly
A WordPress and WooCommerce outlet store for a client — the platform they wanted, built with the discipline that platform usually does not get.
The situation
The client wanted WordPress, and they were right to. An outlet store with a catalogue that changes constantly needs to be editable by the person who knows the stock, not by whoever is available at an agency.
The failure mode for these builds is well known: a heavy purchased theme, a dozen plugins that overlap, and a site that is slow on day one and unmaintainable by month six.
What we did
We built the store on WordPress and WooCommerce with the catalogue structured for outlet and clearance stock, and kept the plugin surface deliberately small — every plugin is a dependency someone has to keep patched.
The point of choosing WordPress is ownership, so the handover was the deliverable: the client adds products, runs campaigns and edits content without calling us.
Why we take this work
We spend most of our time on custom platforms, and we are still happy to build a WooCommerce store when that is genuinely the right tool. Recommending a bespoke build to someone who needs a catalogue and a checkout would be selling, not advising.
Our Magento background goes back to 2017, so commerce on a mature PHP platform is familiar ground.
